Some helpful hints for using images in your report

  • When you use a database as your source of information, use the citation tools within the database to create a citation.  You can then copy and paste the citation to your Google Drive.  Save as you find information instead of trying to recreate citations after you are finished with your work.
  • Statista is helpful for finding images for data in graph form.  You'll need to download these as PowerPoint images in order to use them.  There isn't a built-in citation tool within Statista as in other databases. Look for the source of the image (for example Target's annual report) and use that information to create a citation.
  • When you use Google to search for images, use the tools within Image Search to filter for Usage Rights.Screen shot of Google Images search box with search tools for usage rights
