If you have a student come to you in the process of transitioning and they would like to change their preferred name or other information in their official campus records, please start by sending them to Dr. Dave Stevens, Dean of Students. Dr. Stevens is located in Campus Center 201, his email is dave.stevens@uafs.edu, and his phone number is 479-788-7696. His Administrative Assistant is Katy Brake. Dr. Stevens will work with the student and walk them through the process to make it as easy as possible.

PRIDE at UAFS is the official LGBTQ+ student organization at UAFS.

The River Valley Equality Center is a community organization based in Fort Smith that promotes advocacy in the Arkansas River Valley for the rights of all humans, with an emphasis on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities and other minority sexualities. They have lists of local resources as well as a transgender support group.
