PLA 3003: Prior Learning Practices: Find Books

How to Find Books

There are several ways to find books at the Boreham Library. First, try searching the Library Catalog. The catalog is an inventory of everything available at the Boreham Library. If you find that we do not have books available on your topic, you would then use WorldCat to request books from other libraries.

Ebooks: If you are looking for ebooks, we recommend that you use NUMA Search. Just remember to limit your source type to ebooks.

Library Catalog

To find books in the Library, search the Library Catalog. Normally, you would use the Call Number to find the book on the library shelves, but due to the pandemic, the shelves are closed. We ask that you request materials online or at the Circulation Desk instead. Books can be checked out for three weeks at a time using your UAFS ID. They can be renewed online, via phone, or in person.

  • First Floor: DVDs, Video Games, Graphic Novels, Fiction, Children's and Young Adult (Juvenile), Reference
  • Second Floor: Nonfiction

WorldCat

WorldCat lets you search the collections of libraries in your area and around the world. When searching in WorldCat, you will see a link to "Request via Interlibrary Loan." Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service that the library offers which allows you to borrow books and other materials not available at the Boreham Library. Books requested through ILL typically arrive within 7-14 days.

You may access your ILL account directly from the Library's home page. Simply log in using your UAFS ID and password, click "Create Request," fill out the correct form, and then submit your request.
