Important: you don't need an EBSCO account to use the databases. You do need an account to save articles in EBSCO and to download ebooks.
1. Visit any EBSCO database (such as Academic Search Complete).
2. Click "Sign In" at the very top of the page.
3. Click "Sign up" if you don't already have an account.
Note: You can do this from your My UAFS page and use the Google option to sign on to a database.
Once you've set up your EBSCO account, you're ready to download an ebook. When you click "Download" from the left sidebar of that ebook's page, you'll see a pop-up message like this:
You'll need to check the box next to "I have Adobe Digital Editions or equivalent installed." Then click the download option.
The book will download as a .acsm file. To open this file, you'll also need to create an Adobe account (from the "Sign in" link on adobe.com) and then download Adobe Digital Editions and "authorize" the software.
You'll authorize it using the Help menu, choosing the option for "Authorize Computer..." You'll get a popup message like this:
On this page, input your Adobe ID and password and click Authorize.
Now you should be ready to read your downloaded ebook. Drag the .acsm file over to Adobe Digital Editions, and your ebook will show up there.
