Databases and search Tips

UAFS databases:  Use the link below to access the Boreham Library's databases.  Try a general database like Proquest Central.  Use a combination of search terms.  (Note: CAFR may also pull up references to a university's Committee on Academic Freedom and Responsibility.)  Add terms like "state financial reports" or "state reports"  or "annual financial reports".  You could also use the search filters to take out or add in scholarly journals or news feeds.  Keep track of your search history so you'll know what worked and what didn't.

Lexis Uni contains links to the Arkansas Code Annotated.  A direct link is below.  You can use this database to search within the Code, but be aware that you can only see a limited number of results at once.

Arkansas State Library can help with learning more about specific state agencies, boards or commissions.  The Librarians there were helpful in pointing the author to resources.  Please ask me for info about getting in touch with them.

FASB-GARS is the link to Government Accounting Research System.  Students have been given login info for this site. Helpful hint: After clicking the link below, click on the button for FASB User Login at the top of the page and then type in the user name and password you have been given.
